Help! Cannot Expand IIS Menu

Have you ever opened your IIS Manager to find that your not able to expand the menu? Sure a simple iisreset would fix the problem but say you don't want to disrupt your service. What else can you do to get the menu back with limited repercussions?

I have found another way to resolve this by going into your windows services and restarting the "Windows SharePoint Services Timer". Doing this will fix the problem and get your menu back without having to do an iisrest. Also your users won't see any "service unavailable" messages when browsing sites or have any after effects from doing it.

After you reopen your IIS Manager you will now see the little '+' sign so you will now be able to expand your menus. I know its not a big fix but maybe it might help someone... somewhere. ya gotta start somewhere right?

SharePoint Remedies

Hello one and all if any,

My name is Kevin Miller and I'm a SharePoint administrator for a large accounting firm. A little about me... I graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Information Systems. I've been working with SharePoint for a little over a year. My knowledge is still very limited but I hope the solutions I find will be of some assistance to others.

I plan on using this blog to post some of my SharePoint problems and solutions as I discover them. How often this will be updated we will find out but I'll try to post what I find.
